Device Information: We generate a unique device identifier to associate your account with your device. We also collect your device platform (iOS or Android).

Photos: When you use the scan feature, you may take or upload photos of your kitchen (fridge, pantry, counter). These photos are sent to our servers for AI analysis and are not stored permanently — they are processed in real-time and discarded after analysis.

Cart Data: You may provide shopping cart text or screenshots from retailer apps. This data is processed for duplicate detection and is stored as part of your scan history.

Scan Results: We store the results of your scans (item names, duplicate status, estimated savings) to provide your scan history and statistics.

Subscription Data: If you subscribe to Premium, Apple or Google manages your payment information. We only receive confirmation of your subscription status.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To analyze your shopping cart against kitchen inventory and detect duplicate items
• To provide scan history and savings statistics
• To manage your subscription status
• To improve our AI analysis accuracy

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to provide our functionality:

• OpenAI / Anthropic: Your photos and cart data are sent to AI services for analysis. These services process data according to their own privacy policies and do not retain your data for training purposes.
• Apple App Store / Google Play: Subscription payments are processed by Apple or Google. We do not collect or store your payment information.
• RevenueCat: We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status across platforms.

4. Data Retention

Scan results and history are retained for as long as your account exists. Photos are processed in real-time and are not stored on our servers after analysis. You can request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us.

5. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), secure token-based authentication, and secure server infrastructure to protect your data.

6. Children's Privacy

SmartShop is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
